Wild Prairie Gals
Wild Prairie Silver is, sterling silver & gold jewelry, handmade in Casco Wisconsin by two women Goldsmiths, Joy Kruse & Kali Karnopp. We forge precious metals & gems into rustic, one of kind, heirloom, dream pieces of jewelry.
We love our own creations but we love yours as well. We have learned a lot from your ideas & take heart into the things we create for you, often times from jewelry you already own or sentimental possessions.
Our relationship with our customer is not transactional. It is a lifetime of knowing people & creating friendships. Our creative talents come from your heart, pour through our fingers & we give them back to you to wear forever.
You truly mean the world to us. ❤️

I love to play with fire, a trait of all metalsmiths… being a pyromanic. I love to mix fire, metal & stone which by accident or design makes me a jeweler. I am mostly self-taught & really enjoy making the entire piece right down to every little component. I am by education & devotion an RN. For 16 years I worked as both a jeweler & an RN. After 20 years in the nursing field I decided to finally give up that vocation. I miss being a nurse but I love being a full time jeweler more. I am married & have 2 children. My family was the start of my jewelry business. My husband & I decided I would stay home & raise our children, but I still worked as an RN on days he was able to stay home. In my spare time I began making jewelry. I had no idea where it would lead or that I had any skill or passion for what I now, love so much. It’s been a wonderful journey of learning & creating. It’s been a pleasure to be home, be a mom, have a trade, & become skilled at a fine craft. Where does my inspiration come from? A question I get all the time, especially with my unique stone pieces. 1. It comes in lost thoughts (really random stuff at really random times *you have this too*, pay attention, & write it down) or times when I am doing something else & the idea just floats into my head… it’s a very organic process. 2. New creative designs are never good if the thoughts are forced. I have always kept a very disorganized journal of these thoughts. I go to it when I need it & when I don’t need it, the daily practice of writing down the thoughts you dismiss. It’s a messy tally of my brain but it works. Somehow that messy record of randomness flows out of my fingertips & into a sheet of silver or gold. (Tip to creativity~ Don’t watch TV. Try it for a month. It works. Your brain will finally settle in to doing its’ own thinking.) Other inspiration comes from surroundings I love: the outdoors, kids, birds, flowers, flowing water, dirt, rocks, trees, religion & religious symbols, everyday nature, history, biology, & science. Design is everywhere. 3. Don’t forget you, my customer…you have given me my best ideas. You have pushed me to do things I would’ve never done. You’ve given me important, special, meaningful projects that I’m honored to do for you. So, thank you for your belief in me. I couldn’t have, nor can I do it without you.
God Bless, ~Joy Kruse

I started working at Wild Prairie in September of 2016 as a goldsmith apprentice. I am now working as a full time jewelry designer, gold & silversmith, & being challenged with the daily task of making the impossible, possible and I love it, usually 🙂 🙂 🙂 I am married with 2 children. Besides learning to be a jeweler, I have a Bachelor of Art Degree in Theater & Dance. I am a dance instructor/teacher in the evenings after school and own a dance studio in Kewaunee WI ~ Kalis School of Dance. Goldsmithing has been the perfect fit for me, to let my artistic creativity flow, while still operating my dance studio, teaching Ballet, Jazz and Tap to young little feet.

Supply Chain, & Product Manager
I joined the Wild Prairie Team in January of 2017 starting out as part time help while attending college at UW Green Bay. After graduating from college in December of 2018, with a marketing degree, I started consulting & managing all of Wild Prairie Silver, Savannah Jewelry Supply websites, social media profiles, products, and customer service. Besides my love of marketing & web management, I run two other businesses; involving my family’s Christmas tree farm ~ Aissen Tree Farm & our renovated barn turned into our dream wedding venue ~ The Bloemen Barn. Married in February of 2020, my husband and I just finished remodeling an old farmhouse while being our own contractors(1920’s ~the house was built by my husbands Great Grandfather). There is never a dull moment. The “Prairie” is my home away from home and I look forward to continuing to grow in and with it in the years to come.

I joined the Wild Prairie Team in January of 2021 starting out as part time help. After retiring as a dietary supervisor for 30+ years at the Algoma Long Term Care Unit, I started a new path with the Prairie family wrapping and shipping all of our packages, working with customers, & creating jewelry supplies. Apart from my love of the Prairie, I enjoy DIY projects with my husband, biking, kayaking, knitting, singing, shopping, & spending time with my two beautiful granddaughters. I am so grateful for this opportunity to grow with the Prairie and look forward to what is to come!
Bekah Day
Face of Wild Prairie & Silversmith
I joined the Wild Prairie Team in June 2020 starting out as part time help. After graduating from Luxemburg-Casco High School in May of 2020 I came to the Prairie to be an assistant. I soon became the familiar face on Instagram as Wild Prairie’s model and a silversmith creating one of a kind jewelry pieces. Apart from my love of the Prairie, I enjoy being outdoors every second I can which involved hunting, fishing, hiking, and traveling. I also enjoy riding my motorcycle, beach days, or being on the water in the summer time. I am currently a Sophomore at UW Steven’s Point majoring in Interior Architecture and can’t wait to see what is next!
